The Woodthorpe Prestwich, Greater Manchester Delta and Delta G2 Fonts The Manchester Brewery Joseph Holt re-opened the doors to its flagship pub the Woodthorpe Hotel on the 22nd February 2006 after a £1.25 million refurbishment.

The pub, located on Bury Old Road in Prestwich, has undergone an eight-month project to renovate and refurbish the 145 year-old building. This includes the substantial dining area, banqueting facilities and the three hotel bedrooms that the Woodthorpe offers. The banqueting facility will be able to cater for a sit-down meal of up to 100 people, and will be available for all types of events from business meetings to weddings.

Joseph Holt have used Porter Lancastrian’s Delta fonts with diamond drag etching for their Diamond and Crystal lagers, together with Delta G2 condensation fonts, again diamond etched, for their Crystal Extra Cold lager.

The Woodthorpe plays an incredibly significant part in Joseph Holt’s 150-year history, originally being the ex-family home. Built in 1861, it was purchased by Sir Edward Holt in 1888 where he lived until his death in 1928. The Holt family continued to reside there until 1935, and was eventually converted into a pub in 1955.

Tom Dempsey, Operations Director for Joseph Holt, said: ‘The Woodthorpe Hotel is a significant part of our estate of pubs, given that it is linked to the family history through being Sir Edward’s home for almost 40 years. Therefore it is right that we have made such a considerable investment in what is regarded as our flagship pub.’

Joseph Holt believe that the significant investment that has gone into the Woodthorpe will ensure it becomes one of the top food and banqueting venues in Greater Manchester, whilst maintaining its traditions of offering a quality pint and fine home-cooked food in a comfortable and welcoming setting.
